Antoinette Ohlson, Clinical Director, PT
Stellenbosch University

Originally from South Africa, Antoinette graduated from the University of Stellenbosch with a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy. In 1989. She moved to the United States in 1996 and has since worked as a Physical Therapist in various settings, including outpatient therapy.

Antoinette has extensive expertise in manual therapy for musculoskeletal conditions, chronic pain, vestibular rehabilitation (for conditions like vertigo), and neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis. She also provides functional and biomechanical assessments and treatments for the elderly.

Antoinette’s favorite part of her job is getting to know each of her patients and collaborating with them to design personalized treatment plans. Her goal is to help patients regain the ability to perform activities that are most important to them. She emphasizes functional movement in her treatments and educates patients about their health and fitness conditions.

Antoinette has also successfully completed a Shockwave Certification Course, through the Academy of Shockwave Excellence in February of 2025, demonstrating proficiency in the principles, applications, and best practices of shockwave therapy. This certification signifies a deep understanding of its therapeutic benefits, patient assessment techniques, and effective treatment protocols. With this expertise, Antoinette is equipped to integrate shockwave therapy into clinical practice, enhancing patient outcomes through advanced, evidence-based rehabilitation and pain management strategies.

Outside of work, Antoinette enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and both playing and watching sports.
